Brazil's industry agencies forecast continued growth in chicken and pork production
It is predicted that in 2020, Brazil's chicken production is expected to be 13.8 million tons, an increase of 4.2% compared with last year; the annual chicken export is expected to be 4.23 million tons, an increase of 0.5% compared with last year. Among them, China is the largest importer of Brazilian chicken.
According to ABPA, in 2020, Brazil's pork production is expected to be 4.3 million tons, an increase of 8% compared with last year; the export of pork in the whole year is 1.03 million tons, an increase of 37% compared with last year, reaching a historical record. From January to November this year, China imported half of Brazil's chicken for export.
ABPA predicts that Brazil's chicken and pork production will continue to maintain good growth momentum in 2021. Among them, chicken production is expected to be 14.5 million tons, an increase of 5.5% compared with this year; export is expected to be 4.35 million tons, an increase of 3.6% compared with this year. Pork production is expected to be 4.4 million tons, an increase of 3.5% compared with this year; export is expected to be 1.1 million tons, an increase of 10% compared with this year.
