Greenland, which is based in China, previously said in a statement that it had agreed to establish a joint venture with Minerva to expand its meat business. Greenland will use its distribution channels, retail chains and cold chain logistics to increase imports of South American beef. The group said the Minerva deal would bring meat imports to Rmb4bn over the next two years and aim to establish China's largest meat import hub, with imports exceeding Rmb10bn over five years.
